







Andrés Hernández

Andrés Hernández is a technology leader with over 17 years of experience driving innovation in product and engineering leadership. He is the General Manager and Partner of Gaming Devices Engineering in the Xbox team at Microsoft. Andrés leads electrical engineering, firmware, hardware AI, and system integration for Xbox Devices. His team has delivered flagship products including Xbox Series X|S, multiple gaming accessories, and the hardware powering the xCloud game streaming service.
Andrés has successfully built and scaled diverse engineering organizations, growing his team from the ground up in 2017 while increasing team diversity by 4x. Throughout his career at Microsoft, he has held roles spanning Principal Engineer, Technical Lead, and System Architect, with 15 issued patents and multiple paper publications. He pioneered several Xbox hardware and user experience features for gaming devices.
Beyond his technical contributions, Andrés is deeply committed to increasing minority representation in STEM careers. He actively partners with organizations including Code.org, Girls Who Code, and LifeBeyondtheBall.org to inspire underrepresented students to pursue technology careers. An endurance athlete, he competes in marathons and Ironman events—repeatedly for charitable causes. He has served on the board of the Washington Athletic Club.
Andrés holds bachelor's and master's degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Georgia Tech and is currently pursuing an executive MBA at MIT's Sloan School of Management. He lives with his wife, Carolina, in Seattle, Washington.
